Jorginho scored from the penalty spot as Chelsea beat Brentford 0-2 to qualify for the semifinals of the Carabao Cup, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half was all about wasted opportunities coming from both sides who had everything going good for them except scoring goals under 45 minutes.
Chelsea started off well pressurizing their opponent with them creating more of the opportunities but couldn’t find a way of making it count with few shots not hitting the target.
Brentford were good to continue seeing things remain goalless as the encounter carried pushed further with still nothing yet happening between them and their opponent.
Nothing happened with them left with 10 minutes to be played in the first half of the encounter which was all about dominance from Thomas Tuchel’s side going forward.
The first half of the match ended with Brentford 0-0 Chelsea as they both headed inside for the break with a goalless scoreline after 45 minutes of football played.
Second Half Report
Things continued with more early opportunities coming from the Blues who were dominating things on the pitch but struggled to make it count going forward.
Brentford kept calm looking to see off things the way they wanted it to be as goalless which might give them the opportunity of dragging it into penalties as it progressed.
Chelsea were poor in everything doing to make it count as they carried an own-goal in the 80th minute from Pontus Jansson which gave the Blues a 0-1 lead thanks to Reece James deflected cross.
Jorginho made it 0-2 in the 85th minute of the second half after converting from the penalty spot after a foul was committed by the home team.
The Bees wanted to pull something back immediately the Blues defending were well organized to keep them off from scoring anything.
That goal saw things ended with Chelsea claiming a 0-2 win against Brentford after 90 minutes of football played with them advancing to the semifinals of the Carabao Cup.
