Nigeria played a 1-1 draw against Cape Verde to progress into the next round of qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
A good first 45 minutes between the two Nations saw both teams matching each other man to man as they both found the back of the net.
Nigeria took an early lead minute which saw Napoli forward Victor Osimhen score a stunner which gave the Super Eagles a 1-0 lead in the encounter.
Cape Verde quickly leveled back in the 5th minute after a cross which saw Stopira making things 1-1 from an amazing finish for his Country.
Things continued with Super Eagles dominating things as they push forward hoping to take the lead which proved very difficult to come by for them.
No goal as they approached the final few minutes left in the game which was looking evenly balanced as the visiting side goalkeeper was too good to be beaten.
The first half finally came to an end with Nigeria 1-1 Cape Verde which saw them both heading for the break with a draw scoreline after a good 45 minutes.
Second Half Report
The second half wasn’t that convincing for the Super Eagles who struggled all through to take the lead as it was that game that they need to push through.
Nothing still happening as Cape Verde showed so much quality in the second half which saw them also doing some magic but unfortunately couldn’t make it count.
Nigeria explored every option possible to take the lead but they couldn’t make it happen as things continued to look dangerous for them as they weren’t looking calm.
The match progressed back-to-back to back opportunities coming from both ends with so much at stake between the two countries who need to get the job done.
Nothing could separate them despite so many opportunities as the game ended with Nigeria 1-1 Cape Verde which sees the Super Eagles make it into the next round.
