Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema both scored as France beat Finland in their final World Cup qualifier match, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
A good encounter in the first half which was evenly balanced from both ends who did everything to make sure they took the lead after 45 minutes.
Finland were decent in the opening stages as they fate was in their hands of making it as the second place in the group which was already won by the French’s.
France did so much working going forward but nothing count for them as their opponent had every answer to all their attacking threats thrown at them.
Things continued without a goal coming from either side as they approached the final stages of the first half which was still goalless between them.
Nothing changed as the first half ended with Finland 0-0 France which saw them both heading for the break with a goalless scoreline after 45 minutes.
Second Half Report
The second half was different as the visiting side made sure all their efforts count for something as they dominated the entire game.
Finland continued with their fine composure in making sure they didn’t concede any goal as the encounter progressed further.
Karim Benzema broke the deadlock in the 66th minute of the second half which saw the Real Madrid striker making it count 0-1 for France after a beautiful finish.
Kylian Mbappe also made it count in the 76th minute to make sure the scoreline increased to 0-2 from an outstanding strike which doomed things for their opponent who needed a draw.
It was done and dusted with the match approaching the final minutes of addition time which couldn’t see the home side make anything happen.
The match ended with Finland 0-2 France which saw the home side failing to make the playoffs for the FIFA World Cup qualification for Qatar 2022.
