Dani Alves reunion with Barcelona might be something set to happen sooner than expected, MySportDab reports.

The Brazilian is looking to make a return to Barcelona where he made a name and won numerous titles.

Talks between the player and club were earlier brought up with a potential move on the table after Xavi Hernandez took over as manager.

Ronald Koeman was sacked after a poor run of form which led to the club deciding on making some changes.

Dani Alves could be on his way back to top flight football after leaving New Camp with so many titles won playing alongside Xavi Hernandez.

According to Fabrizio Romano, he confirmed Barcelona are set to hold talks with the defender for a possible return.

“Meeting scheduled between Dani Alves and Barcelona board for his comeback, Confirmed.

“Xavi want him as per @albert_roge, Koeman said No – now it’s time for contract talks with Dani.

“Laporta said few days ago: Alves also offered us his help on a sporting perspective’.

A deal is confirmed to be happening as expected between the two parties which will see him make a return to Barcelona.

The laliga giant are currently dealing with heavy financial problems which saw them losing Lionel Messi.

Although some rumors are suggesting the Argentine could be making a return after being contact by Xavi Hernandez who is now the new manager.

Another key player who might be returning back is Antoine Griezmann who is on loan with Atletico Madrid who have an option to make his move permanent.

Barcelona are also drawing up list of possible transfers which could add more firepower to the team who will be looking to bounce back.

Dani Alves coming in as a free agent would also give them more experience in the defensive department which has been lacking this season.
