Lionel Messi fails to score as Icardi scored a late winner for PSG who claimed a 2-1 victory against Lyon in the French Ligue One, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half of the encounter was filled with so much buzz as Lionel Messi once again was starting for Paris Saint Germain for the third time.
It wasn’t an easy ride for PSG who were looking to overthrown their opponent as they started the game as the better side between the two teams playing.
Lyon wasn’t that bad as they did make a fight which saw them also creating some dangerous run which didn’t result in anything good.
It wasn’t looking like a goal will come in the game as it progressed into the last 10 minutes of play between the two sides in the first half encounter.
The first half of the game finally came to a close with PSG 0-0 Lyon as they both headed inside for the break after an evenly balanced 45 minutes.
Second Half Report
The goals came in the second half as both sides had something to celebrate about as they found the back of the net going forward.
It was Lyon who drew first blood as Lucas Paqueta scored in the 54th minute of the game to give his side a 0-1 lead with Ekambi providing the assist.
PSG looked worried as they were unable to stop the goal from happening before Neymar converted from the penalty spot in the 66th minute to make things level 1-1.
Lionel Messi was taken out of the match as wasn’t able to make anything happen which led to a reaction coming from him after being substituted by the manager.
The game carried on until the 93rd minute which saw Mauro Icardi converting very late in the match to hand Paris Saint Germain a 2-1 lead with Mbappe making the assist.
It ended with PSG 2-1 Lyon as the home side came from behind to claim an amazing win and three points in the bag after a hard fought game.
