Kevin de Bruyne makes a return with a goal as Man City beat Wycombe 6-1 as Riyad Mahrez hit brace alongside Foden and Ferran Torres on target, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half wasn’t that bad for the Premier League Champions who had so much attacking to do all through 45 minutes.
It was looking good for the lower league side Wycombe in the earning stages of the 45 minutes as they were able to hold off their opponent from scoring.
Man City shockingly went down in the 22nd minute as the visitors took an advantage through a goal scored by Brandon Hanlan to make things 0-1 after a good play.
Things continued with so much pressure coming from the Citizens who finally pulled level 1-1 in the 29th minute through an outstanding goal from Kevin De Bruyne.
Riyad Mahrez made the scoreline 2-1 in the 43rd minutes of the first 45 minutes of the game which saw the Algerian finishing off from Wilson-Esbrand assist.
It wasn’t looking good for the away side who conceded another goal immediately in the 46th minute of the first half added time as Phil Foden made it 3-1 as it processed.
The first half of the encounter finally came to an end with Man City 3-1 Wycombe as they headed for the break with the Citizens breathing fresh air.
Second Half Report
A beautiful start to the second half was some good display from the visitors who showed they also didn’t come to concede all the goals without showing their strength.
It started out good as Wycombe were able to defend like a team who knew what they came for in the encounter as things progressed into the 60 minutes and counting.
Man City had to wait until the 71st minutes before Ferran Torres could extend the lead to 4-1 after teaming up with Phil Foden to the fourth goal.
Things continued with Pep Guardiola’s side not looking done as another goal was scored in the 83rd minute by Riyad Mahrez to make it his brace and 5-1.
Another goal coming in the 88th minute as youngster Cole Palmer netted from an outstanding position which saw them increasing the lead to 6-1.
The match progressed and ended with Man City 6-1 Wycombe as the Citizens kicked off their Carabao Cup defense with an outstanding and easy win.
