Emile Smith-Rowe scored as Arsenal suffer a 2-1 defeat against Scottish League side Hibernian in their first preseason, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

The first half of the encounter was a disappointing one for the Gunners despite having most of their regular starters on the pitch.

Arsenal started the friendly match as the better side who controlled and bossed the encounter but unfortunately failed to make their opportunities count.

Hibernian were okay to be the second best in the game until the 21st minutes which saw Martin Boyle scored the opening goal which turned the scoreline 1-0 against the Premier League side.

The first half carried on with nothing coming from both teams who did well enough to hold on to how the scoreline was until the referee ended it with Hibernian 1-0 Arsenal.

Second Half Report

The second half wasn’t that bad with both teams getting one goal each as the game opened up more as more entertaining display was witnessed.

Hibernian were okay as they pushed on in the second half hoping to maintain their lead as much as they can against a better side with so much quality on the pitch.

Arsenal continued to press with the stats favoring them but the scoreline was a problem as Daniel Mackay netted another one to increase the Scottish League side lead to 2-0 in the 69th minute.

Hibernian Arsenal

It was becoming a very bad first preseason for Mikel Arteta side until Emile Smith-Rowe scored one in the 82nd minute which gave them a 2-1 scoreline as the game carried on.

Nothing more from the game as the referee ended the friendly with a result of Hibernian 2-1 Arsenal, as the English Premier League side suffer first preseason defeat.
