Ruben Dias Win Premier League Player Of The Season 2020/2021
Manchester City defender Ruben Dias has been named Premier League player of the season for 2020/2021, MySportDab reports.
He is the second player from the same club to claim the award after Kevin de Bruyne won last season.
Ruben Dias have been voted English Premier League player of the season after an impressive 2020/2021 which they won the EPL title.
The defender was pivotal to Man City’s third Premier League title after making an immediate impact following his move from Benfica in 2020.
He has made a name for himself in England as one of the best defenders who have showed so much quality.
The 24-year-old fitted swiftly into Guardiola’s side which at the back he helped them go on a 15-match winning streak which saw them hold on to top of the league table.
Their winning streak was the fourth-longest such run in Premier League history break other records set.
Ruben Dias contributed to 15 clean sheets, winning 23 of his 32 matches played and making 35 interceptions.
He also went to make 24 tackles, 23 blocks and 135 recoveries all in the process which ensured his side didn’t drop from 1st position.
His performance wasn’t good enough as Chelsea knocked them in the Champions League final which they lost 1-0 to Kai Havertz goal.
