Manchester United have now officially confirmed that midfielder Paul Pogba will miss the next ‘few weeks’ of football, MySportDab reports.

Pogba had to be substituted in the first half of the 3-3 draw against Everton at Old Trafford in the Premier League over the weekend.

The Frenchman was replaced by Fred during the match.

After the match, the 27-year-old did a scan on the injury.

Now, Manchester United have confirmed the extent of the injury and it’s a massive blow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.

On Monday, Manchester United released a statement which read: ‘A scan was carried out to know the extent of the problem and, sadly, Pogba now faces a long time on the sidelines with key games coming up.’

Pogba will miss a number of key matches games United both in the Premier League and Europa League.

He will miss both legs of the Europa League last-32 match against Real Sociedad.

Solskjaer added: ‘His injury requires a few weeks to heal. He’s has started his recovery, working with the medical staffs and we’ll have him back as soon possible.

‘No doubt, Paul has been a key player for us and we’re won’t take any risks. So a few weeks surely.

‘No one wants to get injured and not now Paul had found his form and enjoying playing football.

‘We must now plan and take as many points and wins as possible, even without key players. We are healthy and strong so we can’t complain.’

After the second leg of the Real Sociedad Europa League last-32 match at Old Trafford on February 25, United play two key matches in the Premier League.

The Red Devils face Chelsea away before going to visit rivals Manchester City on March 6.
