Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned Manchester City that his team will not let them run away with the Premier League title, MySportDab reports.Â
United are currently seven points behind leaders City with a game in hand for Pep Guardiola’s team.
The Red Devils played out a shocking 1-1 draw against West Brom on Sunday afternoon.
United have won only one of their last five Premier league games.
However, Solskjaer believes that his players should be praised for putting Manchester United 2nd in the table.
The Norwegian also warned City that they will not have an easy ride to win the league this season.
“I only said we shouldn’t be talking about the title race,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports.
“The boys have done well to get into the position we are now.
“We won’t let City run away with the title, we will face them very soon. We won’t give it away early.”
Mbaye Diagne gave West Brom a quick 1-0 early lead at the Hawthorns against Manchester United.
Now, Solskjaer said his team were aware that Sam Allardyce’s side could start very fast.
He added: “We knew that it could happen from the start, we expected them to put us under pressure immediately.
“They crossed the ball into the box and scored very well.”
Some Manchester United fans and players believe that Diagne fouled Victor Lindelof while trying to score the goal.
“From my experience as a player, I’d say it was a clean goal,” Solskjaer said.
“But recently Harry got ahead of a defender and scored but it was not allowed. There’s not enough clarity and consistency.
“We should always do better but we had a tough start. You have 90 minutes to do better but we failed to find that momentum until close to the end of the first half.”
