Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has asked his players to be more clinical in games this season, MySportDab reports.

This comes after it took the Red Devils took 120 minutes to secure a win against West Ham and reach the FA Cup quarter finals.

Scott McTominay scored a 97th goal on a cold evening at Old Trafford to get Manchester United into the next round.

The win helped United reach the quarter-finals for the seventh consecutive season but they crashed out in the semi-final stage last season.

The 20-time Premier League Champions last won the English FA Cup in 2016 and have been crowned Champions of the trophy 12 times.

After the poor 3-3 draw to Everton, it ended United’s hopes hopes of reaching the in-form Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

United ended up as the deserving winners on the night against West Ham.

The Red Devils dominated and had 17 shots in total to West Ham’s three shots during the game.

However, Solskjaer wants his team to work on their finishing and score more goals.

Speaking to BBC Sports after the match against the Hammers, Solskjaer said: “I think we did well to dominate in the match. I think we were in total control during the first half.

“In the second half it got more intense on both sides. When it’s just one nil and we keep wasting chances, anything can always happen, we must learn that from the Everton game.

“It’s about our ability to finish the game off but we still reached the next round.

“I think we had 15 to 17 shots in total but we need to score more. We should’ve ended the match at 90 minutes.

“We needed a good result and a good feeling today after the Everton game. It’s hard but they were focused and did everything.

“Of course We always want to win every match. We want to challenge for trophies and we want to reach the final.”

Manchester United will discover their quarter-final opponents on Thursday when the draw is conducted.
