Liverpool have now made their approach with plans to sign Bayern Munich defender David Alaba on a free transfer, MySportDab reports.
David Alaba will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and become a free agent.
However, There are five clubs battling for his signature, and Liverpool are on the list.
Alaba has already told Bayern Munich that he won’t sign a new long-term contract extension.
He is still part of Coach Hansi Flick’s plans for the rest of the season.
But, he has already started talks with clubs over his next transfer in the summer.
Liverpool had been linked with a bid for Alaba ever since Virgil van Dijk’s bad injury this season.
Now, According to Sky Sports Reporter, Fabirzio Romano, Liverpool have already started talks the player’s agent.

Liverpool are unlikely to make any signing in the current January transfer window and are more focused on long term deals in the summer.
Liverpool fans want the club to sign a new defender to replace Van Dijk so the likes of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson can return to midfield.
But, Liverpool are focused on using this window to plan for the future.
However, there are four clubs also im the race to sign Alaba.
MySportDab understands that Alaba’s dream as a footballer is to play for Real Madrid.
Alaba’s salary demands is now a potential block in any transfer, with the Austrian demanding £12million-a-year.
The salary, which is £230,000-per-week, would put him ahead of Sergio Ramos as Real Madrid’s highest-paid player.
