Cristiano Ronaldo record breaking strike ensured Juventus beat Napoli 2-0 to lift the Italia Super Cup with a second goal coming from Morata, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half was evenly matched as both sides couldn’t find the back of the net despite the opportunities created.
Napoli wasn’t bad themselves as they looked to be in control of the game at the early stages of the 45 minutes which saw them almost scoring.
Juventus had much of the ball but couldn’t capitalize on anything as Cristiano Ronaldo couldn’t find his footing in the game going forward.
The first half ended with Juventus 0-0 Napoli as they both headed for the break with a goalless draw.
Second Half Report
The second half was more of the same in the early stages with both sides finding it hard to break each other down and score.
Juventus broke the deadlock finally in the 64th minute which came through Cristiano Ronaldo who broke another record for highest goals scored to make it 1-0.
Napoli would have pulled back level in the game but Lorenzo Insigne failed to convert a penalty which was awarded to his side in the 80th minute.
Alvaro Morata scored a late goal to wrap things up as the Italia Super Cup final ended with Juventus 2-0 Napoli as Andrea Pirlo lifts his first trophy as a manager.
