Arsenal are now close to signing Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard on loan, MySportDab reports.

The Gunners were only linked with Odegaard last week but reports from Spain claim a transfer agreement is close.

Arsenal are in search for an attacking midfielder this January transfer window after Mesut Ozil’s long awaited exit.

Real Sociedad also want to sign the 22-year-old after he last season on loan at the Spanish La Liga club.

But, Spanish Newspaper Sport, claims that Odegaard is close to joining Arsenal on loan.

Sport are also saying that everything indicates his ‘flight to London is ready to take off’.

Odegaard has played only nine matches for Real Madrid this 2020-21 season.

According to Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano, Odegaard is tempted by the offer from Arsenal and he will make a final decision with his family.

The Norway International has only played five minutes of football since December 2020 after failing to impress Zinedine Zidane.

Odegaard wants to leave the club on loan and Real are ready to let him go out.

Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos, on loan from Real, spoke up about Odegaard’s lack of game time recently.

He said: “At Real Madrid, there was no guarantee that I would have equal opportunities. I was determined to play again.

“I was not playing enough, but I realised it was best to be important somewhere else.

“If I do to go out on loan again to play, I will gladly. play. It’s that simple.’

Odegaard is one of the attacking midfielders Arsenal have been linked with in this January transfer window.

Real Madrid’s Isco, Norwich star Emiliano Buendia and Borussia Dortmund playmaker Julian Brandt have all been linked with a move to Arsenal.
