Tottenham’s last match of the year 2020 has now been officially postponed just hours before the scheduled Kick-off, MySportDab reportsĀ 

The game has been postponed due to Fulham’s high number of positive CoronaVirus cases.

Tottenham Coach Jose Mourinho reacted angry and was already inside the stadium before the announcement was made public.

A statement from Tottenham read: ‘We can confirm that the Premier League match Vs Fulham, scheduled for today Wednesday 30 December, has now been postponed.

‘We were informed about the decision by the Premier League this afternoon, because Fulham requested the postponement of the match due to number of COVID-19 positive cases at the club.

‘Everyone here at Tottenham wishes Fulham a safe and speedy recovery everyone affected by the virus. A new date for the match will be confirmed soon.’

Immediately, Coach Jose Mourinho mocked the Premier League as the ‘Best league in the world’ on Instagram.

The manager revealed that Instagram his Tottenham players had no idea if they were to play Fulham or not until they arrived at the stadium.

Before the postponement, Mourinho posted a video, and wrote: ‘Game at 6pm… We still don’t know anything. Best football league in the world.’

This is now the third Premier League match to be postponed this season due to Covid-19.

A statement from the Premier League read: ‘Fulham’s game against Tottenham Hotspur, scheduled for 6pm this evening, has now been postponed after a Board meeting this afternoon.

‘Fulham sent in a request with the Premier League Board to set a new date for the fixture due to the significant rise in positive COVID-19 cases at the club.

‘The Premier League Board consulted with medical advisors and decided to postpone the game as a precaution because the health of players and staff is our main priority. The team will be retested immediately.

Tottenham’s players and staff were already waiting inside the Tottenham Hotspur stadium before a decision was made to call off the second Premier League game this week.
