Chelsea Coach Frank Lampard has provided a new update about the witness of winger Christian Pulisic, MySportDab reports.
Lampard has confirmed that Christian Pulisic is ready to play against Tottenham this weekend.
The American has missed Chelsea’s last five matches due to injury.
A hamstring injury, he suffered earlier in the season, has kept the £57.6m player from Borussia Dortmund unavailable.
However, The 22-year-old has now recovered from his new setback and will battle Callum Hudson-Odoi for a place in the team.
Hudson-Odoi scored in Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Rennes on Tuesday night.
“Bringing Odoi into the team today, I knew he would produce a good performance, Lampard said.
“I know he wants more playing time, so does everyone in the team. Christian Pulisic is back for this weekend. I now have more competition in that area.
“So it’s not as if Callum isn’t getting minutes means he’s out of favour with me. He isn’t.
“But he’s still a developing player. The bit of quality he showed before he got his shot away against Rennes is classy, I know he can do more.”
The win over Rennes helped Chelsea stay top spot in Group E, leading by goal difference.
