Germany Coach Joachim Low has revealed that defender Antonio Rudiger ‘tried everything’ to leave Chelsea this summer, MySportDab reports.

The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour under Coach Frank Lampard at Chelsea and was linked with a transfer deadline move to Tottenham.

Serie A clubs AS Roma and AC Milan showed interest in the player.

A move failed and Rudiger remains a Chelsea player but his Coach at Germany has revealed that he will try to leave again in January.

‘I talked closely with Rudiger, he was keeping me updated,’ Low said.

‘There were like three or four options before the transfer deadline but nothing was accomplished.

‘He can provide a great performance even without playing for a few weeks of matches. I’ve been with him for some years now and we’ve always had a good understanding since the beginning.

‘He has developed very well over the past five years.

‘He’s established himself as a top player. Interms of professionalism, dynamism and duels, he always players a top level even without playing for some weeks.

‘He did everything possible to leave Chelsea because the Euros is very important to him. I think he might try to leave again in January. He’s doing this to stay in his best form.’

Coach Frank Lampard spent this summer transfer window rebuilding his squad after his debut season in the Premier League.

He invested over £200m on seven new players.

However, Rudiger is yet to play for Chelsea this season but will hope to play for Germany in their upcoming matches.
