Manchester United are now favourites to sign Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon this summer, MySportDab reports.

According to reports, the Red Devils are ready to submit an offer for the talented 23-year-old.

Reguilon is expected to leave Real Madrid this summer as Ferland Mendy and Marcelo are Coach Zinedine Zidane’s first choice options at left-back.

He was on loan last season at Sevilla and helped the Spanish club to finish 4th, even win the Europa League trophy.

However, Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident that Regilon will the left-back positions available for next season.

Last season, Luke Shaw played as United’s first choice left-back but was withdrawn from their Europa League game due to an ankle injury.

During his injury, 20-year-old Brandon Williams replaced him.

But, Real Madrid have no plans to keep Reguilon at the club and could loan or sell him and include a buy-back clause.

Coach Zidane wants to raise funds this summer and help the La Liga club deal with the financial difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Reguilon will cost Manchester United around £25m for a transfer this summer.

According to Spanish Newspaper AS, Reguilon is tempted by the Red Devils offer and assurance of a starting place in the squad.

Reguilon could also play in Europe next season since Manchester United already qualified for the Champions League.

Although Sevilla still want to keep Reguilon for another season, United have the upper hand in talks as they are willing to offer him a long-term contract.

Sevilla are hoping for another loan agreement this summer and no option to buy.
