Arsenal have now announced the signing of defender Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille in a £27m deal, MySportDab reports.
Arsenal reached an agreement with the French club to pay an initial £22m fee which would rise to £27m for the Brazilian.
Gabriel completed his Arsenal medical last week after his arrival in London on Monday to sign his contract and complete the transfer.
Last week, Gabriel’s agent confirmed that the deal was done already.

He said: “Arsenal did not have the best proposal in terms of money offered.
“Gabriel decided to join Arsenal despite other lucrative offers because he was convinced about the project. It’s 100 per cent because of Arteta.”
Gabriel’s arrival and William Saliba’s return from a loan spell at St-Etienne means a long-term partnership for the Gunners in Defence.
Magalhaes emerged as one of the best young defenders after a breakthrough season with Lille, in which he played 34 matches across all competitions.
But he is yet to play for Brazil at internation level.
Gabriel is expected to make his Arsenal debut when the Gunners play Fulham in their Premier League match at Craven Cottage of the new season.
