They went on to complete a deal with Bournemouth for their defender Nathan Ake for £40m to Join their ranks.

Another deal has been put in place to land Napoli most prized asset Koulibaly and they have put in a £57m bid.

The defender has been a long term target for top club in the English Premier League and City are now favourite.

Manchester City have launched an opening bid of £57 million for Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports from The Sun.

The Citizens are prepared to include bonus payments in the final deal to sweeten the agreement.

But the Italian giants are likely to hold out for a lump sum of £63 million upfront instead of £57 million.

Pep Guardiola has already added Nathan Ake and Ferran Torres to his City ranks for the 2020/2021 campaign.

Koulibaly could be the next man to arrive at Etihad Stadium this summer if a deal is completed.
