Real Madrid heads into the game against Athletic Bilbao knowing a win will see them move further from Barcelona.
The first 45 minutes didn’t create too much talking points as both teams played out goalless score.
Real Madrid did much of the attacking as Athletic Bilbao sit back and defend with hopes of breaking through a counter attack.
Both teams came close on several occasions to go ahead but the finishing was nothing to talk about.
One good thing to talk about the first half was that both team’s defense was solid all through.

The second 45 minutes was a different ball game as Real Madrid were able to get the goal and a winner.
It all began where it ended in the first half with Athletic Bilbao doing most of the defending.
Karim Benzema came close to scoring but he was intercepted before he could cause any troubles.
