Casemiro was on target as Real Madrid beats Espanyol 1-0 which saw them move to the top of laliga table above Barcelona with two points, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half provided just one goal in favour of Real Madrid thanks to Brazilian Casemiro.
Real Madrid went into the match knowing a win will give them a two points lead over Barcelona who played a 2-2 draw.
Zidane’s team started well and almost scored an early goal which Benzema misplaced.
Toni Kroos cuts the Espanyol defense open and laid in a good pass to Benzema who couldn’t hit the target once again.
Casemiro finally got the goal in the 45th minute after Karim Benzema provided the assist.
The goal gave Real Madrid the advantage as they headed in for the first half break in the match.
Second Half Report
The second 45 minutes was an end to end game but failed to provide the fans with any goal.
Lei Wu almost got Espanyol the leveler as he directs a shot on target but it was saved by Courtois.
Underperforming Eden Hazard was taken off as he couldn’t contribute much with Vinicius Junior coming in his place.
Many more chances were created by both Real Madrid and Espanyol but none was able to convert.
Real Madrid move back top of laliga table with the win which sees them rise above Barcelona with two points.
