Nigeria Star Odion Ighalo has revealed that he wants his Manchester United Loan deal extended until the Premier League ends, MySportDab reports.

Ighalo signed for the Red Devils from Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua in the January transfer window and his contract runs till 31th May.

Premier League fans, clubs, players hope to finish the suspended season and Ighalo could be asked to return to China when the Chinese Super League resumes.

“I would like to stay and finish the season if possible,” Ighalo told BBC Sports.

“I was in great form, perfect shape, scored goals and now we’ve stopped playing for almost two months. I’ve given it everything and I hope we will resume play.

“The team have a good spirit before the crisis started. Right now, I’m on loan and my time at the club is short.”

MySportDab understands Manchester United are planning to extend Ighalo’s contract.

So far, He’s scored four goals in eight matches across all competitions for Manchester United and also scored in the 5-0 Europa League win against LASK.

Ighalo added: “Every footballer, the club, myself are going through a lot because we have stopped doing what we love and what we do best, so we’re thinking about it for now and to finish the current season before talking about contracts.

“I want everyone to stay safe and see what happens in the future.”

Officially, Premier League clubs will have a meeting on Monday to discuss plans to resume the season.

The Chinese Super League are planning to resume in June or early July.
