CoronaVirus: Man City vs Arsenal POSTPONED Due To Deadly Virus (Details)

Premier League Match Postponed

Manchester City’s Premier League match against Arsenal has been officially postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, MySportDab can confirm.

Some Arsenal players had come into contact with Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis, who confirmed yesterday that he tested positive to the deadly virus.

However, the specific players are currently unknown.

The two clubs were set to face off tonight at The Etihad Stadium, but the game has now been postponed.

A host of Arsenal players met with the Olympiakos owner following the Gunners’ Europa League match with the Greek club.

And the Premier League after receiving medical advice have determined that the game should not be played.

MySportDab understands It is the first professional match in England to be affected by the CoronaVirus, which has caused a complete caos in Italy, leading to the postponement of the Italian Serie A.

A certain amount of Arsenal players are now in self-quarantine, which could lead to further cancellations or games in the coming weeks.

In a new statement, Arsenal reassured fans that Saturday’s match against Brighton will still go ahead as planned.

“Following yesterday’s notice that Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis has contracted Covid-19, we have taken medical advice and tracing any individuals who had close contact with him at the game over a week ago,” the statement read.

“As a result of this, we identified that a host of players met the Olympiacos owner after the match.

“The medical advice we have gotten puts the players at a very low possibility of developing Covid-19. However, we are following the strict Government guidelines which recommends that anyone coming into close contact with someone with the virus should self-isolate for 14 days from the last time they made contact.

“Due to this, some players are unavailable for tonight’s match against Manchester City and the Premier League has decided to postpone the game.

“The players will remain at home until the 14-day period expires. Four Arsenal staffs, who sat close to Mr Marinakis during the game will also remain at home until the 14 days are complete.”

Matches across the world are now already being played behind closed doors, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund being played in an empty Parc des Princes stadium tonight.
