Real Madrid have confirmed that summer signing Eden Hazard has been diagnosed with a fracture in his right leg after Los Blancos’ 1-0 loss to Levante, MySportDab reports.
The Belgian is now ruled out of the Champions League matches against Manchester City and also the crucial La Liga match (El Classico) against rivals Barcelona.
Hazard limped off with the injury during Real Madrid’s shocking 1-0 loss against Levante on Saturday.
It was only his second game back from a long-term ankle injury which he suffered back in November.
But, he now faces fresh injury concerns, and could be out for around two months.
However, Real Madrid officially confirmed on Sunday that the 27-year-old has a fracture in his right fibula, and he’ll be monitored.
A statement from Real Madrid statement read: “After the tests today on our player Eden Hazard by the Medical Services of Real Madrid, he has been diagnosed with a fissure in the right distal fibula.
“His recovery will be closely monitored.”
MySportDab understands that Hazard won’t be playing for Zinedine Zidane’s team anytime soon after this new injury.
Real Madrid play next against Manchester City in the Champions League Last-16 round on Wednesday at the Bernabeu, before face rivals Barcelona for El Clasico next Sunday.
