The former winger doubts that Jurgen Klopp’s Team will see out the campaign without coming unstuck, however says title glory is all that matters.

It is “unrealistic” to expect Liverpool to emulate the achievements of Arsenal ’s ‘Invincibles’ by going undefeated through the whole 2019-20 Premier League season, says John Barnes.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has safely navigated twenty hurdles thus far.

The Reds have dropped simply 2 points on the way and sit thirteen clear at the top of the table.

A first top-flight title in thirty years is currently well procurable, and getting over that line remains the priority for all involved at Anfield.

Barnes believes no attention are given to going undefeated, having already created it through twelve months while not coming unstuck, as tableware is all that matters at this stage.

The Reds legend told talk sport: “Until the league is won, looking the season undefeated isn’t on anybody’s mind at Liverpool, it’s not on my mind.

“I don’t suppose it’ll be done. Of course, it can be as a result of liverpool is enjoying in a way wherever they’re not losing matches.

“But we’ve still got to play Tottenham away,
Manchester United at home, Manchester city away and on any given day these teams will beat us.

“So to expect us to go through the season undefeated i feel is unrealistic. Not that we can’t, I just don’t think we will.”

Arsenal raised the bar back in 2003-04 once creating it through a 38-game campaign perfect.

Their undefeated run was eventually stretched to forty nine games, thereupon another record that Liverpool have in their sights.

Ex-Gunners star Martin Keown sees no reason why the Reds shouldn’t be trying to copy those efforts, with Klopp’s side boast several of the qualities that Arsene Wenger’s side once did.

He said: “You may lose alternative games in alternative competitions, as they need done, however you have got that additional shell, a coating, an armor, that you’re very proud regarding the run.

“There isn’t an inquiry to a defeat as a result of there isn’t one! In one whole year, they’ve ever had to appear at each other thereupon disappointment.

“When i used to be in this room with those players I’d look around and say, ‘I’d attend war with you guys’. That attitude is unique!

“You look around and suppose, however long will we keep achieving this? And there’ll be a priority that if they lose a game that they might lose a handful, however they’re within the zone. It’s quite an outstanding kind.”

Liverpool’s attention can turn to fa Cup matters on Sunday after they soak up a third-round derby date with Everton, however a come back to Premier League action can see the main focus narrowed by a visit to Tottenham and a visit from arch-rivals Manchester United.
