The Nigeria Football federation has decided to make their first move following the Super Falcons failure to reclaim the WAFCON title and book World Cup qualification.
The Super Falcons of Nigeria national had one of their most horrible outings in history. They failed to go beyond the first round of knockout stages and could not make the final four.
On top of the whole situation, the Women’s team failed to pickup the playoffs ticket for the World Cup that is expected to commence later this year.

Following the conclusion of the WAFCON 2026, the NFF weigh into the situation as investigation commence to find out what really went wrong.
Some fans are already calling for total shutdown of those in charge of the team while also holding the federation responsible for everything.
The Super Falcons had it rough with preparations ahead of the WAFCON 2026 in Morocco. They did not get enough chance of playing friendlies like other countries.
However, the team carried on hoping to dust off the poor preparations in their opening game against debutant Malawi. However it did not go as planned as they ended up losing the game.
They went on to manage a 1-0 victory against Zambia despite playing most of the game with 10 players after Demehin red card.
The final group stages game against Egypt was a lucky one which saw them finishing second behind Malawi who ended up finishing second at the tournament.
Nigeria journey came to an end after a shocking defeat to eventual winners Cameroon. They went on to suffer another loss to South Africa, which ended any chance of World Cup for next year.
After the whole experience, the NFF decided to form a team to investigate what went wrong. Following the conclusion of the investigation, a decision has been made.
The NFF confirmed saying: “The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has asked members of the technical crew of the Super Falcons to step down with immediate effect.”

A decision is expected to be made soon as the team need to get back together and start preparing for the Olympics qualifiers.
There should be a new technical crew to take over things while the NFF will also look to ensure they don’t make the same mistakes of the pasts.
