Brighton and Hove Albion smashed Chelsea 3-0 at the Amex Stadium to extend the World Champions losing streak to five games in a row under Liam Rosenior.

The performance from the Seagulls was exceptional with goals from Ferdi Kadioglu, Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck who all made it so easy.

The World Champions came into the match with a different kind of lineup which they are not used to playing under Liam Rosenior.

It took Brighton and Hove Albion just three minutes to take the lead through Ferdi Kadioglu right foot placement which deflected past the goalkeeper.

Chelsea were behind 1-0 after three minutes of action as they carried on struggling to meet up or show anything tangible for themselves.

The first 10 minutes was total dominance by the Seagulls with 76 percent ball possession compare to the visitors who only had 24.

Georginio Rutter had his shot blocked by Malo Gusto in an attempt to strike in the 12th minute. Jan Paul van Hecke sends a header towards goal which Robert Sanchez saved in the 15th minute.

Sanchez was there again to intercept a cross aimed towards the box by Mats Wieffer. Georginio Rutter had an opportunity in the 17th minute, but his effort was wide off target.

Robert Sanchez committed a defensive blunder which saw him pass the ball to Carlos Baleba who quickly set it up for Jack Hinshelwood.

However, Hinshelwood strike on goal was quickly hacked off by Trevoh Chalobah in the 19th minute which kept things 1-0 between both teams.

An opportunity presented itself for Georginio Rutter in the 40th minute, but his shot on target was saved by Robert Sanchez.

Wesley Fofana was cautioned with a yellow card after stopping a counter in the additional time of the first half.

There was just one minute additional time for both teams before the first half finished with Brighton and Hove Albion ahead 1-0 against Chelsea.

Wesley Fofana was taken off in the 46th minute and  replaced by Alejandro Garnacho in a tactical substitution.

Brighton also made a change of their own taking off Mats Wieffer who was replaced by Joel Veltman as the match carried on.

Romeo Lavia strike from outside the box failed to find the target in the 47th minute. The home side continued dominating play with 57 percent ball possession.

Jack Hinshelwood doubled the advantage in the 56th minute after a counter attack saw Georginio Rutter providing the assist which made it 2-0.

The buildup to the goal happened after Alejandro Garnacho lost hit footing while an attack was going on for Chelsea.

Yankuba Minteh was cautioned with a yellow card  after a dangerous challenge in the 58th minute. Kaoru Mitoma could have increased the advantage but he failed on his volley in the 63rd minute.

A 66th minute effort from Ferdi Kadioglu was saved by Robert Sanchez. Romeo Lavia and Liam Delap were both taken off and replaced on the 73rd minute.

Both Marc Guiu and Dario Essugo came on as replacements for the substitutes. Both Enzo Fernandez and Alejandro Garnacho had opportunities on goal in the 76th minute, but failed.

Brighton and Hove Albion made a change in the 77th minute as Yankuba Minteh came off and was replaced by Maxim De Cuyper as play carried on.

Both Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter were removed from the game as Danny Welbeck and Yasin Ayari replaced them in the 83rd minute.

A cross from Maxim De Cuyper in the 91st found Danny Welbeck who scored with his right foot which made the scoreline 3-0 as they pushed on.

Brighton and Hove Albion made sure it was a horror show for Chelsea as they snatched all three points from a 3-0 victory at the Amex Stadium.

This game was an important one for Chelsea and Liam Rosenior following the heavy criticism that has been pouring in from the fans who are not pleased with the results.

The World Champions might be dropping as low as 10th position on the Premier League table before the week comes to an end after this loss to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Chelsea head coach talked about what the team lacked in their loss and his anger while emphasizing more on accountability.

Rosenior said: “I have my own ideas, I am not here to make excuses. that was unacceptable from everyone involved with me at the head of it. That needs to change.

“Nowhere near the levels, not even tactical, tackles, duels, intensity, spirit, energy, passion all lacking and that is the reason we lost.

“It is accountability. I have defended the players at times when it was the correct thing but I can’t defend that performance. It doesn’t represent this football club, it doesn’t represent anything I ask from the group and that has to change.

“I feel numb I’m so angry. I always speak on what I see and that was unacceptable. The goals we conceded were unacceptable and that is something I have to hold my hands up to.”

Liam Rosenior and the Chelsea side will be looking at the next game which they need to win as things continue to look very bad around the club.
