Kylian Mbappé has poured cold water on ongoing rumors of tension between himself and Vinícius Júnior, insisting the pair share a strong relationship and a unified ambition to guide Real Madrid back to glory, MySportDab Reports.
Since Mbappé’s blockbuster arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, speculation has swirled that the Frenchman’s presence created friction with Vinícius, who many felt was pushed into a supporting role.
Their lack of chemistry on the pitch last season only fueled the narrative — the duo both scored in just four of the 26 La Liga matches they played together.
However, Mbappé has now dismissed those reports, telling Movistar Plus+ during the October international break that he and Vinícius have developed a far better understanding.
“I have a very good relationship with Vinícius. Much better this year — we got to know each other much more,” Mbappé said. “He’s a great player and a very good person. Two famous players on the same team sell a lot of papers, but this isn’t serious.”
Both forwards have started the new campaign in red-hot form. Mbappé leads the team with 14 goals in all competitions, while Vinícius has contributed seven goal involvements.
The pair have already scored in the same La Liga game three times this season — nearly equaling last year’s total.
Their growing partnership has been crucial to Madrid’s resurgence under Carlo Ancelotti, as the club heads into the November fixtures top of La Liga and looking strong in the Champions League.
“We share the same goal — to help Real Madrid win titles,” Mbappé added. “If we want to win, we need to be at our best and help the whole team.”
Together, the duo may finally be ready to form the attacking partnership Madrid fans have long dreamed of.
