Liverpool have turned down advances by Bayern Munich for one of the top-rated wingers, MySportDab reports.
The Reds have been relentless this season in beefing up the squad for the next season with four new additions secured.
Florian Wirtz, Jeremy Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and Amin Pecsi have all been added to the fold of the Merseyside club with more new signings expected before the end of the transfer window.
However, they have also lost key players with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jarel Quansah taking up new challenges at Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively.
Luis Diaz has also been among the mentions of potential names that could exit the Anfield club this summer amid interest both from the Reds’ European rivals and Saudi Arabia.
In Europe, Bayern Munich have been understood to be on the trail of Diaz. The Bavarians consider the Colombian winger a priority option to replace Leroy Sane, who left for Galatasaray as a free agent after turning down a new contract proposal.
However, they have now been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of the player. According to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool have turned down the Bundesliga champions’ attempt to begin negotiations for Diaz.
Diaz is reportedly considered a key part of the Reds’ squad due to his contributions to the team and is expected to play a key role next season.
However, despite their no-sale decision on the player, Saudi side Al-Nassr are understood to still be on the trail of the player and are ready to submit a tempting offer to secure him this summer.
It is yet unclear how much it will take the Saudi side to force Liverpool to reconsider their no-sale decision on the winger.
Meanwhile, it is the second time Liverpool have turned down advances by European rivals for Diaz. The Reds also did same to Barcelona in last summer’s transfer window.
