Manchester United have suffered their third defeat in four Premier League matches following a 4-3 loss to Brentford today, MySportDab reports.
The Red Devils went into the game off the back of a three-match winless run in the English top flight and have been struggling for results this season.
Against Brentford, Ruben Amorim’s side were expected to put their poor run of form behind and return to winning ways.
However, it ended with another defeat for the falling Premier League giants as the Bees edged them out in a seven-goal thriller.
Notably, things looked bright for the away side immediately after the kickoff. Mason Mount, who recently returned from the sidelines after a lengthy injury layoff, opened the scoring for the Red Devils just 14 minutes into the game.
It was his first goal for the team this season but the lead was short-lived as Brentford fought back quickly to level the score.
Luke Shaw got the ball into his own net after trying to stop Damsgaard’s ball in the 27th minute. Six minutes after the own goal, Brentford took the lead via a beautiful goal by Schade.
Schade’s goal ensured the home side completed the comeback at the break to pave the way for victory.
In the second half, Schade extended the lead for the Bees with a 70th-minute strike and Yoane Wissa made it 4-1 16 minutes from time.
However, United weren’t ready to give up easily. Eight minutes before regulation time, Alejandro Garnacho reduced the deficit for the away side.
At the last touch of the ball, Amad Diallo scored United’s third to make it 4-3 and keep the scoreline respectable. Proceedings ended with United losing for the third time in four matches as Brentford grabbed a deserved 4-3 victory.
