Portugal national team coach has come out to react over Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement which was announced yesterday.
There is an ongoing situation with the coach and Portuguese legend which led to him ending his national team career.
Meanwhile, before the issue with Ronaldo and Portugal national team coach, the Al Nassr captain was preparing to lead the team at the upcoming Euro.

There were talks of possible retirement, but no plans were made even after Portugal poor performance at the recent World Cup.
After the conclusion of the tournament, the Portuguese FA decided to appoint Jorge Jesus as their coach to help rebuild the national team.
However, things quickly went sideways with Cristiano Ronaldo who worked with the same coach during his team with Al Nassr. It was also claimed that the legendary player had a hand in pushing for Jorge Jesus appointment as their coach.
Despite the relationship between them, both the player and coach fell apart over the future of the national team. The situation escalated so quick that Ronaldo left the national team camp and decided not to feature for them anymore.
Both individuals had something to say about their own parts of the story, but it seems the situation was no where near being settled. Yesterday, Cristiano Ronaldo decided to announce his retirement from the national team.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo Jnr was recently called up for the Portugal U17 team before his father announced hos retirement.
Jorge Jesus has come out again to give his opinion on why the legendary forward decided to retire from the national team. The coach clearly did not reveal much as he is aware of how sensitive the matter looks.
Jesus said on why Cristiano retired: “I don’t know. You should ask him. What I know for sure is that Cristiano and I worked together for a year”.
“It was a happy time, and we won the title with the club we were at”.
He also had this to say about his decision on Ronaldo: “I wouldn’t change anything, absolutely nothing.
“I made a decision as a coach, putting the interests of my team and the Portuguese national team first”.

“I’m convinced that I didn’t do anything to cause what happened”.
His comments tells a lot of what is going inside the Portuguese national team camp as they want to look forward instead of looking back at what already happened.
Jorge Jesus recently confirmed his squad for the upcoming international break with Portugal looking to continue their fine run since he took over as their coach.
