The Super Falcons of Nigeria claimed a massive 5-0 victory against Comoros Women’s in their second leg match which took place in Ikenne Stadium.

Both Uchenna Kanu and Toni Payne grabbed a brace each with Christy Ucheibe netting from the penalty spot to round off the Women’s Olympic Qualifiers round.

The Super Falcons are expected to face Morocco next in the qualifiers round which will take place in 2027. They will be hoping to advance against a formidable side when the next round commence next year.

Both women’s national team came prepared for the match which had a lot of talking points after the first leg which ended with a 2-0 result.

The Falcons established control and saw most of the ball against their opponent who wait and hope for an opportunity to play counter.

Augustine Eguavoen did not make any changes to his team who played the first leg in the same Ikenne Stadium some days ago.

Rasheedat Ajibade was taken off the match after falling down with a injury which saw the medical team put her on the stretcher.

The first half ended with the scoreline staying 0-0 as the Super Falcons and Comoros Women couldn’t do anything much to change things.

Toni Payne opened the goal scoring after a wonderful finish which came in the 47th minute to make things 1-0 as play carried on.

The game opened a bit more with the Nigeria Women’s national team adding another goal through Uchenna Kanu in the 57th minute of action which made it 2-0.

Kanu scored again in the match, but her goal was later called off due to offside. Toni Payne made it 3-0 with a goal in the 63rd minute of play which also made it a brace for her.

Uchenna Kanu could not be stopped as she finally registered her brace in the game after netting in the 67th minute to make the scoreline 4-0.

The game carried on with the Comoros Women still unable to do much from their end while they also can’t stop the goals from pouring in.

Unfortunately it got worse when the visitor pulled down Blessing inside their penalty box. Al Hillal midfielder, Christy Ucheibe stepped up and made it count 5-0.

The goal came in the 71st minute with little time left to play. Nigeria ended the match after 90 minutes with a 5-0 victory against Comoros which push them into the next round of qualifiers.

Following the victory, the Super Falcons will go up against Morocco in their next match which comes up in 2027. The Olympics qualifiers is still long and there are many games that will be coming up.

The Comoros Women bow out of the qualifiers round after suffering a 7-0 defeat in both legs. However, they snatch a record 30-0 victory in their previous game before facing the Super Falcons who only entered the qualifying stage from the current round.

Augustine Eguavoen has delivered massively as all attention will turn to resolving the current NFF situation and naming a permanent coach for the Women’s national team before their game against Morocco.
