The 2026 World Cup quarter finals is at hand with eight teams left following the conclusion of the round of 16 which produce some mouthwatering outcome.

Brazil and some other footballing giant nations were sent packing during the round 16 as current Champions overcome what could have been a shocker against Egypt.

Following an intense group stage and a ruthless knockout bracket, including the new Round of 32, the field has been whittled down to the tournament’s best.

The round of 16 provided the most entertainment with Colombia and Switzerland rounding off the showdown which cut 16 teams to remaining eight.

Fans have already witnessed historic upsets and masterclasses. Notably, Morocco continued their fairy-tale run by eliminating co-host Canada, while Norway shocked the footballing world by ousting Brazil in a stunning 2-1 victory, fueled by a brilliant brace from Erling Haaland.

Meanwhile, traditional powerhouses like France, England, Spain, Argentina, and Belgium have survived high-pressure encounters to secure their places in the quarter-finals.

The Quarter-Final Fixtures

The 2026 World Cup is set for another round of games which are expected to commence by July 9th, with eight teams looking up progress to the semi finals.

France vs Morocco: July 9

This fixture is a highly anticipated rematch of the 2022 semi-final which will take place at the Boston Stadium. France, led by Kylian Mbappe, arrives with a relentless attacking engine, while Morocco boast one of the most disciplined defensive structures in international football.

Spain vs Belgium: July 10

This match will take place at the Los Angeles Stadium. The clash pits Spain’s possession-based control against Belgium’s Red Devils, who enter the match brimming with confidence after a dominant 4-1 dismantling of the United States in the Round of 16.

England vs Norway: July 11

This encounter will take place at the Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, and it is arguably the tie of the round. England, a perennially strong contender, must find a way to contain Erling Haaland.

Norway, riding the momentum of their historic run, looks to prove that their victory over Brazil was no fluke.

Argentina vs Switzerland: July 11

The defending champions, led by Lionel Messi, face a resilient Swiss side at Kansas City Stadium. Argentina had to shown championship character in their Round of 16 comeback against Egypt.

They will need that same level of performance if they are to dismantle a Swiss team that prides itself on tactical discipline and team unity.

Four teams will be making through into the semi finals which two finalist will be confirmed and two others for the third place playoffs.
