Goals from Terrem Moffi and Paul Onuachu saw the Super Eagles of Nigeria play out a 2-2 draw against Poland in Warsaw.

The Eagles went into the match with the likes of Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen being ruled out for different reasons.

The was a good environment in Warsaw as both teams looked to prove their quality after recent frustrations.

Nigeria, missing key stars like Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, started with intent in search of an early opener.

Their persistence paid off in the 25th minute when Terem Moffi found the back of the net to silence the home crowd and put the Super Eagles ahead.

Poland, determined to bounce back from their recent defeat to Ukraine, responded with increased pressure. Their efforts were rewarded just before halftime.

In the 45th minute, following a scramble in the penalty area, Kacper Potulski capitalized on the chaos to bundle the ball home, ensuring the teams headed into the locker rooms on level terms at 1-1.

The second half saw both managers, Jan Urban for Poland and Éric Chelle for Nigeria, make tactical changes to regain control.

Nigeria appeared the more dangerous side for much of the second period, frequently probing the Polish defense.

Their breakthrough came in the 76th minute when the referee, following a VAR review, awarded a penalty to the visitors.

Paul Onuachu stepped up and struck the ball home with composure, putting Nigeria 2-1 ahead and seemingly on the brink of a signature victory on European soil.

As the match entered the final minutes, the intensity reached a fever pitch. Nigeria looked to seal the win, but Poland refused to yield.

The home side surged forward in a desperate search for an equalizer, pinning the Super Eagles back in their own half.

Just as it seemed the Super Eagles of Nigeria would hold on for the win, the stadium erupted in the dying moments.

In the 95th minute, deep into injury time, Przemyslaw Wisniewski delivered a thunderous strike that pierced through the Nigerian defense and into the net.

The late goal leveled the score at 2-2, snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat for the hosts as they spare themselves the misery of suffering a defeat.

For both teams, this result highlights both promise and areas for growth. Poland showed commendable resilience, demonstrating their ability to fight until the final whistle.

Nigeria, meanwhile, displayed attacking flair and composure under pressure. While the late equalizer will be a point of frustration for the Super Eagles, their ability to dominate possession and create consistent danger against a disciplined European opponent is a significant positive.

The performance of individual players, particularly in the absence of established starters, suggests a depth of talent that will serve Nigeria well as they shift their focus toward upcoming competitive fixtures.

As the final whistle blew, the 2-2 draw felt like a fair reflection of a pulsating match that provided exactly what international friendlies are designed for high-intensity competition, tactical experimentation, and entertainment for the fans.

Both sides now look ahead, with Poland seeking to regain consistency and Nigeria building on a performance that proves they remain a formidable force on the international stage.
