Ousmane Dembele scored a record breaking hat-trick within 32 minutes as France thrashed Norway 4-1 in the final group stage game of the World Cup.

The result cements France’s standing in the tournament, highlighted by an explosive first-half performance from from Dembele that left the Norwegian defense reeling.

The highly anticipated fixture, which drew a massive crowd to the historic venue, served as a final group stage showdown to determine the leader of Group I.

While both sides entered the match with high hopes, it was the French Les Bleus who dictated the tempo from the opening whistle.

The match began at a blistering pace. Just 25 seconds into the game, Kylian Mbappe signaled France’s intent with a thunderous effort that rattled the crossbar.

Though Norway attempted to settle and briefly pushed back with aggressive pressing, including a disallowed penalty claim, they were soon overwhelmed by the French offensive machine.

The star of the show was undoubtedly Ousmane Dembele. The winger found his rhythm early and exploited gaps in the Norwegian defensive line with precision.

Dembélé’s hat-trick, completed before the halftime interval, showcased his clinical finishing and ability to thrive under pressure.

His first and second came in the 7th and 20th minute respectively, before he went on to complete his hat-trick with a goal in the 32nd.

By the time the referee signaled for the break, France held a formidable 3-1 lead, effectively silencing the vocal contingent of Norwegian fans who had turned the stadium into a sea of red.

Facing a significant deficit, Norway’s manager Ståle Solbakken made bold adjustments to his squad.

Having already made ten changes to his starting lineup, notably opting to keep superstar Erling Haaland on the bench for the duration of the opening half, Solbakken looked for fresh legs to salvage the result.

Despite the intensity of the second half, France maintained their defensive discipline, effectively neutralizing Norway’s attempts to mount a comeback.

As the match progressed, France added their fourth goal, putting the result beyond doubt and ensuring they finished their group stage campaign on a high note.

For France, this performance serves as a powerful statement to their fellow title contenders. With the partnership between Mbappé and his creative teammates looking increasingly fluid, they head into the knockout stages with immense momentum.

For Norway, while the result is a setback, the tournament experience remains invaluable. The focus now shifts toward internal recovery and preparing for the challenges that lie in the next round, as they look to build on their earlier group performances.

The energy in Boston was palpable throughout the night, with both sets of fans providing a vibrant atmosphere. As the final whistle blew, it was the French supporters who remained, celebrating a night where everything clicked for their side on the world’s biggest stage.
