Man United are lining up another Real Madrid sensation as a possible replacement for exit-bound Casemiro this summer.
United have been in the hunt for a top-class No. 6 to replace Casemiro, who had announced his decision to leave the Old Trafford club at the end of the season.
United previously pursued fast-rising Brighton and Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba, but later backed out after Brighton slammed a crazy €100m asking price on the player to register their decision not to part ways with him.
Amadou Onana of Aston Villa, Ederson of Atalanta, Sandro Tonali of Newcastle, Wolves’ Joao Gomez, and Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller also made United’s shortlist to replace Casemiro.
While the aforementioned players still remain on the radar, United have reportedly now settled on a more concrete option to fill the imminent Casemiro-vacuum in Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid.
The Red Devils reportedly consider the French midfielder as a perfect alternative for Casemiro, given his ball-winning capacity and experience at the highest level of the game.
With the summer transfer window fast approaching, United contingents are reportedly set to begin proceedings to sign the player.
Tchouameni has been an integral part of the star-studded Real Madrid squad. He has made 28 La Liga appearances for the club this season, scoring one goal.
He also has a goal and one assist in 13 Champions League appearances this season for Los Blancos and is regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. But can United secure a deal for the 26-year-old? This takes us to our next discourse below!
Man United Chances of Signing Aurelien Tchouameni
No one expected it when Man United pulled a headline transfer in 2022, signing top-rated Brazilian midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid.

Notably, Casemiro’s Real Madrid exit to Man United coincided with a subtle midfield revamp at the La Liga club which saw the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni arrive that same year.
According to multiple reports, Real Madrid are eyeing a critical midfield boost this summer and Ballon d’Or winning Manchester City DM Rodri is a priority target.
Interestingly, Rodri refused to rule out a return to La Liga and possible move to Real Madrid when pressed earlier this season and a concrete Madrid interest in the summer could see the Spaniard switch from Etihad to Santiago Bernabeu.
With Real Madrid’s posture on Rodri, Manchester City are reportedly pushing to poach Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest to replace the midfielder.
Hence, a Real Madrid’s deal for Rodri could pave the way for Aurelien Tchouameni’s Bernabeu exit, allowing Manchester United broker a deal for the France international.
