Argentina left no stone unturned with yet another emphatic victory as they prepare to defend their 2022 World Cup trophy in the USA in June, MySportDab reports.

The Albiceleste wrapped up their March international friendlies – a final preparatory window before the 2026 World Cup – with an emphatic victory over Zambia last night.

While the quality between the two teams may take some gloss off the result, the reigning world and South American champions ensured they came away with a stylish victory to reassert their dominance ahead of the World Cup.

As expected, they got off to a strong start in the game, dominating proceedings and looking set to take a deserved, and it wasn’t long before their effort yielded result.

Atletico Madrid attacking sensation Julian Alvarez opened the scoring just four minutes into proceedings, paving the way for the team’s march to victory.

Two minutes before the break, Lionel Messi made it 2–0 to stamp their dominance of the game at the interval.

Despite going down by two goals, Zambia failed short of a promising performance in the second half.

They were still pinned to their half and were set for a drubbing as they continued struggling against the hosts’ surging offensive.

Five minutes into the restart, Argentina’s sustained pressure yield result as they bagged a penalty and Nicolas Otamendi converted with aplomb to make it 3–0.

Eight minutes after the hour mark, Chanda mistakenly had the ball into his own net to extend Argentina’s lead to 4–0, but that wasn’t the end of the story!

Deep into stoppage time, Barco, latching on to Gonzalez’s assist, completed the rout for the Argentines, scoring to make it 5–0 at full-time.
