France national football team have been forced into a late defensive reshuffle after William Saliba withdrew from the squad due to injury, with Maxence Lacroix called up as his replacement for upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Colombia, MySportDab Reports.

Saliba sustained a left ankle injury during Arsenal FC’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City FC in the EFL Cup final. The 24-year-old has been a key figure for the Gunners this season, making 38 appearances across all competitions.

Lacroix, currently with Crystal Palace FC, earns his first senior call-up after an impressive campaign. His 3,840 minutes rank among the highest for outfield players in the Premier League this season, underlining his consistency.

Meanwhile, Manchester United FC have confirmed that Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Šeško will both miss international duty. Mbeumo, who was set to represent Cameroon national football team, withdrew as a precaution after picking up a knock in a 2-2 draw with AFC Bournemouth.

Šeško will also sit out Slovenia’s friendlies as he continues to manage an ongoing issue. The striker has been in strong form, scoring seven goals in 2026.

In the England national football team camp, Ben White has earned his first call-up since the 2022 World Cup under new manager Thomas Tuchel. The Arsenal defender replaces Jarell Quansah, who is sidelined with a thigh injury.

White had previously made himself unavailable for selection but now returns to the squad, having last featured in 2022.

Harvey Barnes has also been included after impressing for Newcastle United FC this season. He replaces Eberechi Eze, who is sidelined with a calf injury.

England are set to face Uruguay and Japan in their upcoming fixtures, as squads across Europe continue to adjust ahead of the international break.
