Tolu Arokodare scored the winner as Nigeria Super Eagles claimed a 1-0 victory against Rwanda in Uyo, MySportDab reports.
It was a calm game from kickoff which saw unfortunate event of Victor Osimhen being brought off after sustaining an injury.
First Half Report
Both national team knew what was needed to be done coming into the match which they wanted a win so badly.
Victor Osimhen had the ball at the back of the net, but his goal didn’t count as the referee called it an offside from the Galatasaray striker.
It a dominant game for the Super Eagles who saw more of the ball but struggle to make anything tangible happen on their end.
Victor Osimhen faced too strong challenges in quick succession before being forced out of the game.
Nothing happened in the first half as both teams headed inside after playing a 0-0 scoreline with more work to do.
Second Half Report
The match was still very close between both teams who continued to push and fight to ensure everything goes their way.
The action was none stop from both teams who looked sharp but just couldn’t find a way of getting the breakthrough.
A scuffle inside the box saw Tolu Arokodare got the last touch and made things 1-0 in the 50th minute as things progressed.
There were some other great moments but none changed things as Nigeria claimed three points from 1-0 victory against Rwanda to keep World Cup hopes alive.
