Tyson Fury has set the boxing world abuzz once again after hinting at a potential trilogy bout against Oleksandr Usyk, scheduled for April 18, 2026, at Wembley Stadium, MySportDab Reports.
The 36-year-old former world heavyweight champion made the announcement via social media on Thursday, writing: “April 18 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy!”
Fury retired from boxing earlier this year following a unanimous decision defeat to Usyk in their highly anticipated rematch.
That loss, which came after their first clash in May 2024 where Usyk won by split decision, handed the Ukrainian the status of the first-ever undisputed four-belt heavyweight champion.
The trilogy bout appears to be gaining momentum, with Fury’s co-promoters Queensberry Promotions confirming to BBC Sport that discussions are ongoing with Team Fury and Riyadh Season – Saudi Arabia’s annual cultural and sporting festival.
Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh, who has been instrumental in organizing major fights in Riyadh, also confirmed Fury’s intention to return. “The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back,” Alalshikh posted on X. “I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026. We have a rabbit to hunt.”
Fury famously dubbed Usyk a “rabbit” throughout their fiery buildup to both of their previous meetings in Saudi Arabia.
While the location of the potential trilogy has shifted to London’s Wembley Stadium, Alalshikh’s continued involvement suggests Saudi Arabia could still play a role in facilitating the mega-fight.
However, the trilogy is not yet set in stone. Its confirmation could hinge on Usyk’s upcoming bout with British challenger Daniel Dubois on July 19 at Wembley. If Usyk wins, he will become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion — setting the stage for an epic third clash with Fury.
