Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has finally addressed his future with the club amid rumors of his imminent exit, MySportDab reports.
The Colombian attacking sensation has three years left on his contract but has been strongly linked with what could be the biggest transfer exit from the Anfield club this summer.
The Reds’ European rivals Bayern Munich and Barcelona have been strong mentions in the race for the player.
After a move to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao failed, Barcelona are understood to be gearing up for a move for Diaz.
However, they have Man United’s Marcus Rashford as a potential alternative, hence they are behind Bayern in the race for the player.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have agreed personal terms with Diaz and are hopeful of agreeing club terms with Liverpool to complete the move.
Amid reports of this potential exit to Bundesliga, Diaz has admitted he is in talks with both Liverpool and other clubs to settle his future for the next campaign.
He also added that he is happy with Liverpool and is calm about his situation at the club at things stand.
“We’re in the process of negotiations, talking with the club, with Liverpool, with everyone who’s approaching us. But I’m very calm where I am, you know, very happy. Trying to make the best decision now.”
Liverpool are clear on on Diaz’s future and place in the team under new manager Arne Slot. The Merseyside club have not budged on their decision not to sell the Colombian sensation this summer as they consider him key to the project.
However, they have yet to broker a new deal with Diaz having only two years left on his contract.
The 28-year-old is expected to link up with the squad for pre-season but it is believed a tempting offer by Bayern could force Liverpool’s hand to sell him this summer instead of losing him on a free transfer or lower fee after next season.
