Manchester United have slammed an asking price on Antony amid reports linking the player to a transfer exit from the club this summer, MySportDab reports.
Antony spent half of last season on loan at La Liga side Real Betis and turned a corner with stellar displays in La Liga and UEFA Conference League after his Man United misfortunes.
He had five La Liga goals plus four assists in 17 appearances and struck four times in the UEFA Conference League, helping the team reach the final of the European third tier.
MySportDab understands Real Betis were intent on keeping him on another loan deal following his impressive shift but United are tilting towards a permanent transfer exit instead.
United’s new boss Ruben Amorim considers the Brazilian out of his squad plans for next season, hence the decision to part ways with him permanently.
It is understood the two sides are still on the negotiation table but have yet to agree on a deal with United still insistent on a permanent exit solution.
Now, according to reports from Transfer Live, United have taken their step to only sanction a permanent exit solution for Antony further by slamming a price tag on the player.
The report adds that the Old Trafford club have slammed a £50million asking price on the player for potential suitors.
Notably, this price tag will work out a negative balance sheet on the part of United concerning the player. Antony joined United on a record £83million from Ajax and saw his career go down the drains, including his market value due to poor performances.
Meanwhile, Real Betis are not the only club interested in his services. Another Spanish side Atletico Madrid have been a big mention in the race for the winger following his impressive showing during the loan spell.
Antony has three years left on his Man United contract but is open to taking a new challenge away from the club to save his career.
