Chelsea have doubled down on their attempt to upgrade their attacking options for the upcoming 2025-26 campaign, MySportDab reports.

Just a few hours after beating Bayern Munich to the signing of top-rated winger and England U-21 international Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, the Blues have sealed another deal for the sixth time this summer.

They have signed 23-year-old Brazilian forward João Pedro from Brighton following a marathon of talks and advanced negotiations with the Seagulls.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues, who had agreed on personal terms for the player, have now reached an agreement with Brighton for the player.

They will pay £50million as a transfer fee plus add-ons with the player undergoing his medical on Tuesday and then joining the club in the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.

Pedro is Chelsea’s sixth signing this summer after Kendry Paez from Independiente, Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg, Dario Essugo from Sporting, Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.

He has agreed to a seven-year contract with the club till 2027 and will join the Blues’ attacking options starting from the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup.

Notably, the Seagulls’ attacking sensation is the third attacker signed into the Blues’ fold this season after Jamie Gittens and Liam Delap, but the fourth to be joining the club this summer when Palmeiras youngster Estevao Williams is added to the list.

This underscores Chelsea’s priority in beefing up their attack for the next season with the likes of Christopher Nkunku expected to leave.

Joao Pedro will undoubtedly be a big addition to the Blues attacking lineup. The former Fluminense player has 19 goals in 53 Premier League appearances for Brighton and has won three caps with Brazil.
