22-year-old Benfica defender Alvaro Carreras is also set to join the club. According to Spanish outlets, the La Liga and European giants had agreed personal terms with Carreras, including club terms with Benfica for the player.
With the Portuguese football season rounded up, Benfica are reportedly set to announce the departure of Carreras while Real Madrid confirm the signing of the youngster.
Carreras plays as a left-back and is expected to bolster Los Blancos’ options in that area.
The Ferrol-born youngster graduated from Man United academy and was promoted to the first team in 2022.
However, he never tasted senior team football with the Red Devils but was loaned to Preston North End, then to Granada, and finally to Benfica, where his loan deal was made permanent.
Carreras has also had stints with Real Madrid youth teams and this signing marks his return the the club after five years.
