Lamine Yamal has climbed up the ladder of Barcelona’s highest-paid players following his new contract with the Catalans, MySportDab reports.
It’s no news the fast-rising Spanish youngster has penned down a new contract with the La Liga champions to cap his meteoric rise with the club.
 Barcelona announced the 18-year-old’s new contract in a giddy club statement on Tuesday to the satisfaction and jubilation of the culers who were keen on retaining the prolific and exciting young talent.
As expected, the club only let the duration of the contract – six years till 2031 – out of the bag, but clipped up other details, as per the new wage offer and bonuses.
However, sources close to the club have revealed Lamine Yamal has summarily risen to the top cadre of players in the Barcelona fold with the most handsome pay packages following the new deal.
According to Goal, Lamine Yamal will earn a whooping £325,000 weekly from the new deal. This works out at a staggering €15million as annual wage. With bonuses and other perks, this amount is expected to rise to €20million per season.
Prior to the new deal, Lamine Yamal occupied the lower rungs of Barcelona players’ earning ladder with his weekly wage.
He earned an average of €64,000 weekly and was 18th on the top-earners’ charts. With the insane new offer, he has now risen to third on the ladder, only behind Robert Lewandowski and Frenkie de Jong.
This marks a significant milestone in the winger’s career. Also, it has also been established that Barcelona have slammed a €1billion release clause on his head to deter interest by rivals as the hope to retain him for the foreseeable future.
