“I Can Return This Season,” Rodri Gives Positive Update on Injury Recovery

Rodri could be back to the turf for Manchester City before the ongoing 2024-25 Premier League season ends, MySportDab reports.

The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner picked up a season-ending injury in the Premier League match between Manchester City and Arsenal.

He was spotted in Spain for a medical attention in a Barcelona hospital as City desperately pulled the strings to have him return to action as soon as possible.

However, there was no breakthrough with the club later confirming he will be ruled out of the rest of the season following the blow.

Now, Rodri has confirmed a positive update on his injury blow and is optimistic of beating the timeout timeline to return to action before the season ends.

Speaking in a recent interview, the highly-rated defensive midfielder said he is likely to return to footballing action before the season ends as he is recovering fast.

“I feel I can return already THIS season, yes. It’s possible and I can make it happen”.

“I’m recovering now, no pressure… it’s important to recover in the best way”.

“But the season is long, there’s the new Clubs’ World Cup… I can do it”, he said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Rodri has been greatly missed by Manchester City. For the first time since 2006, the club recorded four consecutive defeats in all competitions and are five points away from league leaders Liverpool.

Rodri has been the cog in City’s wheels and is known for his game-changing roles. His return could be a major boost to City’s domestic and European campaign.
