La Liga giants Real Madrid have reportedly prepared a possible mid-season replacement for manager Carlo Ancelotti, MySportDab reports.

Speculations over the future of Ancelotti has soared recently following the club’s dwindling domestic and European fortunes.

They are trailing challengers Barcelona in the La Liga title race and have suffered three straight defeats in the UEFA Champions League with the 2-0 loss to Liverpool marking the height of the dragging poor run of form.

Boasting of some of the finest legs in the game, Real Madrid hierarchy are reportedly unconvinced by Ancelotti’s undesirable benchmarks of late and are ready for a mid-season replacement of the Italian football veteran.

According to @cope on X (formerly Twitter), the club have identified their sports director Santiago Solari as a potential replacement option for Ancelotti should they decided to sack the former Chelsea boss immediately.

Solari is said to have fostered a strong relationship with the club’s hierarchy and has emerged as a top interim managerial option if Ancelotti is sacked.

The 48-year-old Rosario-born football tactician has had both interim and permanent managerial spells. He has been at Real Madrid since 2013, first as the club’s Academy coach for three years before being promoted to Real Madrid B head coach on 2016.

After two years with reserve side, he was promoted to interim first team manager in 2018 and then a full permanent role the same year.

Solari managed only one year as Real Madrid first team boss before being replaced by Zinedine Zidane in 2019.

Meanwhile, Ancelotti has a year plus seven months left on his contract but could risk a sack soon and be replaced with Solari should the club’s performances fail to improve.
