Premier League Champion Manchester City played out a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United at Saint James Park, MySportDab reports.
It was an outstanding game coming from both teams who had their moments and made them count going forward.
Pep Guardiola’s side couldn’t get the job done in a match in which Erling Haaland failed to get a goal to his name in 90 minutes.
First Half Report
The game was great with so much being done by both teams who wanted to take charge of things while the match carried on.
Newcastle United came prepared and did well enough to hold out the Champions from causing any damage to them as they continued forward.
Manchester City couldn’t make anything much as Erling Haaland was kept away by the home side who were in the game as of the half-hour mark.
Joško Gvardiol was able to break the deadlock in the 35th minute after his wonderful finish which was assisted by Jack Grealish to make things 0-1.
The 35th-minute goal was the only action as Manchester City headed for the break with a convincing 0-1 lead against Newcastle United.
Second Half Report
The second half was similar but this time the efforts were more from both teams who came in knowing work wasn’t over.
Manchester City continued holding firm to their advantage as they sought to find a second goal which didn’t happen for them going forward.
Newcastle United were given a penalty in the 56th minute after Ederson brought down Anthony Gordon who later stepped out and it counted 1-1 in the 58th minute.
Bernardo Silva came so close in the late minutes of the match, but Nick Pope was equal to the task by pulling up and incredible save.
Newcastle United were able to hold on as the game came to an end with them playing a 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
