Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has broken his silence on the club’s move for Victor Osimhen, MySportDab reports.

Osimhen is a top striker target for Chelsea this summer but the Blues are running against time before the close to the transfer to sign the player.

Talks with Napoli was initially stalled due to Osimhen’s refusal to accept a loan move or cut down his salary. However, recent reports suggest the Blues have reawaken their interest in the player.

Amidst the dragging transfer saga between Chelsea and Napoli over the Nigeria international, the Blues’ new manager Enzo Maresca has broken his long-held silence.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Maresca kept his audience in the dark per his take on the club’s move for Osimhen.

“I’m not gonna comment on Atléti and Napoli players…”.

“The club knows exactly what I think and hopefully before the window shuts we can bring in some more players,” Fabrizio Romano quotes.

Another stumbling block to the Osimhen’s move to Chelsea has been his release which is considered way too high.

Recall Napoli slammed a €130m release clause on the player after he signed a new contract in December 2023 at the back of a triumphant 2022-23 Serie A campaign.

At the time of filing this report, Chelsea have yet to sort out terms with Napoli for Osimhen but sources close to the club have revealed talks has resumed between both parties.

PSG are also interested in a move for Osimhen but have halted proceedings due to the €130m release clause on his contract.

Osimhen has asked to leave the club this summer, submitting a transfer request. Napoli are also intent on selling him but may have to peck down their asking price for the player for a deal to go through.
